About Jazroy

The leather, honestly.
Leather grading is confusing by design, and the label that sounds most reassuring is often the weakest. The plain version:
- Full-grain keeps the entire outer surface of the hide, grain intact. It is the strongest part, and the part that develops a patina.
- Top-grain is that surface sanded back to remove marks, then refinished. Tidier and more uniform, but it loses some strength and will not patina the same way.
- Split is the lower layer left after a hide is split. It has no natural grain, so a finish is usually applied on top.
- Bonded is leather scrap ground down and bound to a backing. It behaves more like a coated fabric than a hide.
Here is the catch: “genuine leather” is not a grade. It only tells you real hide is present somewhere, so it can describe any of the above, including the weakest. That is why we name the grade instead of hiding behind a phrase that sounds like a guarantee.
Jazroy started there, with that exact frustration. We wanted carry we could actually trust. Full-grain leather, named honestly, built to be used for years instead of replaced every season.
What we make
Full-grain leather goods for everyday carry, held to one material and one standard. We've started with the carry-on duffel, and we'll add to the range piece by piece.
The leather
Everything is full-grain crazy horse cowhide, vegetable-tanned.
Full-grain is the top layer of the hide with the grain left intact. It is the strongest part, and the part that ages well. Crazy horse is a waxed pull-up finish, which means it takes on scratches and burnishes them in as you use it. Rub a mark with a soft cloth and it softens. Over months the whole piece darkens and settles into a patina that is yours and no one else's.
So the scuffs are not damage. They are the point. A good crazy horse bag looks better at year three than the day it arrived.

What we don't do
We skip the loud logos and the markup that only buys a name. The bag should do the talking, and it should do it quietly. That is the whole look.
Buy once
A proper leather bag is a considered purchase. Spread the cost across the years you will carry it and it works out cheaper than the cycle of cheap bags that keep failing. Buy it once, keep it, let it age.
Who we are
Jazroy is a small, independent business, run out of Singapore. We're not an old leather house with a heritage workshop, and we won't pretend to be one. We started this because we were tired of bags that aren't what they claim to be.
If you need us
Every order ships tracked, so you always know where it is. If it is not right, you have 30 days to return it for a refund. And there are real people behind the brand, not a contact form that never replies.
